Araly South, Jaffna – Birthplace of Prof. A. Sathasivam

Araly South is part of the Jaffna region in northern Sri Lanka, a historically Tamil-speaking area known for its strong educational, literary and religious traditions. Prof. A. Sathasivam was born in Araly South, Jaffna, on 15 February 1926 into a respected scholarly family. His early years in this Tamil cultural environment formed the foundation for his later studies in Tamil language, grammar, literature and comparative linguistics.
