Prof. A. Sathasivam’s scholarship extended beyond Sri Lanka through international research fellowships and academic networks. The archive connects him with institutions and research centres in Oxford, Philadelphia, Berkeley, Thanjavur and Tokyo, supported by Fulbright, Commonwealth and other research fellowships.
These international connections are especially important for understanding his comparative linguistic work. His research interests included Tamil grammar, Dravidian linguistics, lexicography and the Sumero–Dravidian hypothesis. By linking Sri Lankan Tamil scholarship with wider centres of linguistic study, he positioned his work within an international academic conversation.
