Ananda College, Colombo and Prof. A. Sathasivam

Ananda College is one of Colombo’s prominent educational institutions and is historically associated with Buddhist education in Sri Lanka. Public records identify the school as established in 1886 and connected with the Buddhist educational revival of colonial Ceylon.

Prof. A. Sathasivam studied at Ananda College, Colombo, from 1945 to 1947, preparing for university entrance examinations. In 1947, he completed the Higher School Certificate and Mathurai Pandit Examination, qualifying him for university-level Tamil studies.
